Salame di cioccolato di Modica IGP siciliano

Chocolate Salami of Modica

Maybe it's because I love the intense taste of chocolate, or maybe it's because I adore Sicily and its gastronomic and confectionery excellences, or maybe it's because my unstoppable desire for sweets never ends, today I decided to make a typical homemade dessert, very easy to prepare and with simple ingredients: the Chocolate Salami! A dessert that reminds me of my childhood and that everyone likes. However, I wanted to "embellish" it by using Modica PGI chocolate, characterized by a particular grainy and crumbly texture and a rough appearance that preserves all the characteristics of cocoa. The chocolate salami can be a perfect dessert after a meal, or a tasty snack for children.

Coarsely crush the biscuits. Do the same with the hazelnuts and set them aside. Break up the chocolate and melt it in the microwave, or melt it in a small pan in a bain-marie. While the chocolate is melting, work the butter, which must be at room temperature, until it becomes creamy. Pour the melted chocolate into a bowl, add the cocoa, biscuits, vanilla, sugar, chopped hazelnuts and finally the butter. At the end add the marsala. Amalgamate all the ingredients well, until your mixture is smooth and homogeneous. Trasferitel'impasto obtained on a sheet of baking paper and give it the classic shape of salami. Roll it on itself and tighten well. Roll it up and tighten the ends of the paper as if it were a large candy. Place your Modica chocolate salami in the refrigerator for at least 4-6 hours. If you have less time available also in the freezer. Remove the paper and serve it cut into slices!
